Christmas Cookies and Graduation

Graduation!
Whoop after eight weeks of puppy school the girls passed with flying colours! They each had a picture with the cap on and a certificate! Plus a bag of puppy treats! They were for sure the teachers favorites... We learned lots and they are great at walking now, can sit and stay... still need to work on the 'come' command...
but I think the girls had lots of fun!
Gabby above - not enjoying the hat and
Lily Below - who kind of shuts off when you put a hat or clothes on her...

It was a great dry run of the Sugar Cookies!
I'm not sure about the Royal Icing I made... it was okay... and I made two kinds... I just think it could taste better. I do want to find a snowflake cookie cutter and perhaps a mitten one too! It was really fun decorating! And I got to go to the new BULK BARN here in the Hat and I bought some sprinkles and the food colouring!
This weekend we are off to Red Deer to watch Beauty and the Beast put on by RDC Theatre Arts Program! Super excited we get to see Ms. Sarah
(I put in an order for Christmas Cupcakes and I'm super excited about it) and Ms. Nancy our most favorite instructor! What a wonderful Lady!

-weekend projects-

My Oma's dutch plates I am going to eventually hang in the spare room!
THE SPARE ROOM
This room was light ugly purple a few months ago, complete with icky brown trim!
Since then we painted it this pretty blue and put up white blinds and bought a new bead spread...
Things left to do are change the outlets to square ones, put curtains over the closet... it is definitely used as storage... closet casings and put some pictures on the walls!
THE DRESSER
My old Ikea dresser that I am very excited to do an 'IKEA HACK' on just like on Design*Sponge -thank you Zoe for having this link it is a WONDERFUL blog -
I want to paint it white and antique it and put some sweet knobs on it... yup and when I do that I will post that picture!
THE CHAIR!
My mum gave me this great rattan forest green chair for our spare room that I am going to spray paint and re-cover the pillow!
COLOURS
I'm thinking glossy black... but if you look the colour of the walls and the kinda blue and white theme I'm going with... I'm not sure if I can pull that off... so either a glossy blue maybe or a creamy white or brown?...hummm
THE PILLOW will be a mix of white and blue/turquoise fabric that I have yet to find or look for... but I'm confidant I will be able to find what I'm looking for! GABBY on the chair :o)
FUN FUN FUN!
So I will be hopefully buying a can of spray paint and painting this bad boy this weekend!
Along with wanting to bake sugar cookies... and take the bottle back to recycling... perhaps putting some Christmas lights up... It is looking like a busy weekend!

Finn: I have to go. They'll think I'm pooping.
Oh boy great episode last night, I did not stop laughing.
That was clearly my favorite quote said by Finn to Kurt when he called him in Quinn's bathroom. BAHAHAHA

headbands are my new belts

It is true I have grown out of wearing a different belt every day of the week... for some time there I had... well still have... quite a collection of random belts and belts from my Oma and my Mum... now I just wear either my orange belt... when I want a pop of colour... my trusty white belt that goes with most things or I wear or my brown braided belt that came with a pair of pants... But for a while now I've been wanting to wear those cute headbands... and finally I bought a few last weekend!!! One from banana republic that is pretty dressy with some be-jewels on it but I also went to this huge Christmas Craft Fair in Calgary and these students were selling the coolest handmade headbands! www.fredalovesporter.com I bought two, one for me and one for Amanda, Jaime's girlfriend. They have lots to choose from and I clearly would like to purchase more!

Tuesday

I'm in the mood to do some Christmas baking... or just baking in general... I have two super ripe banana's on my banana hanger so tonight I am going to make Cocoa Banana Bars - recipe from www.allrecipes.com -
I have been looking at recipes all afternoon... I've gone to www.joyofbaking.com and found a sugar cookie recipe... I would like to use some Christmas cookie cutters and make some coloured icing and have a jolly good time! I was looking on flickr that photo site and wow there are some amazingly talented sugar cookie icing people out there! The cookies look so beautiful! So we are going to try it perhaps this weekend for a dry run through to see if we can at least make some semi-pretty Christmas Cookies!
Perhaps I will remember to take pictures!
I did make some angel food cake cupcakes for my mum and dad's birthday this past weekend and they turned out pretty good. I had to call the cupcake master Sarah a few times to figure out why my egg whites were not peaking... and what cream of tartar was... but I made it through thank you Sarah!! I did take a few pictures of them... I will upload them some time in the near future!

UPLOADED!!

MMMMMMMMMMM YUMMY! I enjoy real WIPPED cream!
