Look at those crazy girls...

well I had the fright of my life last night! While making Zucchini muffins the girls were outside and Lily was barking quite a bit and usually they girls are pretty good and only bark at people in the back ally... AND recently there has been a cat taunting the girls by sitting right outside the fence under old blue... SO i just thought it must be the cat and let it go for a bit while I was checking my muffins. WELL WEll well... I call the girls in and Lily comes running in and straight to the couch to look out the front window and keeps barking... and this time I go check it out and WHAT DO I SEE OUTSIDE!!! GABBY in the front on the road by my car!

FREAK OUT MODE BEGIN!!!

now Gabby is a runner so I'm thinking great we will never be able to catch her in the dark... and she doesn't look both way's before she crosses the road... So I Yell for Chris that Gabby is out and I'm freaking out because the back door is open and I don't want Lily to run out the back door while I try and get Gabby in the front door and I didn't want to run and close the back door because then I might loose sight of Gabby and she would be gone... BAH! What seemed like a huge decision that took to much time... probably a few seconds... but in the end I just opened the front door and then miraculously Gabby ran to me in the door... OMG. I think she must have been scared being in the front yard when it is all dark out... So I walked around to see how she got out and our side gate was wide open... HOW I have no idea... it wasn't open at lunch when I was outside with them... and it wasn't really that windy out... so that has me also freaked out... we were so lucky this time...

Good think sister Lily didn't venture out too... she was just too scared and barking at her sister Gabby to come back into the yard... FREAK ME OUT.

Well as is well and we will be off to Fernie at 3ish today! Woohoo!

The 'AAA' Battery and Lily

Well a week or so ago Chris and I went out for dinner and when we came home I saw a battery on the floor... I didn't think to much of it right away and let the girls out. When I went to pick it up and put it back in our TV remote I noticed it had been chewed on and punctured! AHHH LILY!!!!! Poison Control Battery Acid! So we called our vet's emergency line and the lady told us to check her mouth for any blisters from the acid and rinse her mouth out with water... Well it sure is hard to rise a dogs mouth out... and Lily is a squirmer... we thought about the spray bottle but... that is the 'bad dog water' so we don't want her to associate the 'bad dog water' being sprayed down her mouth with something she hasn't done wrong... so we went with a bath! we washed her and tried to shove water down her throat as nicely as possible and we looked in her little mouth and no blisters so we did not have to phone the vet and make an emergency vet run! Close Call... so now we make sure the TV remotes are on the side table button side up so there is no chance of a battery falling out!Does not look happy...

Also! Our trip to Fernie is a go and we will be leaving this Friday night! Weehoo.

And in other news... Charlie has to go in to the shop... she is leaking oil... and needs a tune up... I never knew car's should get a regular look over to see if something is wrong... I just thought my oil change would be enough... guess not so off she goes to get fixed tomorrow morning...

Whirl Wind Weekend!

That is a photo of the cupcakes I iced this weekend! I was visiting Ms. ST in Red Deer this weekend and got to watch the ST bake her fab-u-lous cupcakes! I also was lucky enough to have her make a few extras for me and I got to ice them! MY FAVORITE PART! and I got to go through her gigantic cupboard of sprinkles and toppings to put top of my icing job! TO FUN!

So we spent the day baking up a storm - ST had three orders for the weekend - ooo and I also got to sample an apple cup pie! DELICIOUS! we did a quick tour of the mall - that I hadn't been too since all the new stores - and went to this cool TEA place in the mall called TEA TO GO... I think that is what it is called... any way it was great! and I Will go again! Finishing the night off with our favorite place to eat - OJ's for Dill Dip and Fries... yummahay! and Beergarita's when we got home!

That Friday I was also in a Golf Tournament! and I had a great time playing - the first few holes were difficult... and I had a few choice words but then I got the hang of it and just hit the ball!

That Sunday I then drove to Calgary to spend the day with the rents! we went to the Calgary Interior Home Show and wandered around. Made me want a kitchen renovation and have hard wood floors put in the house... I will just dream of that now! We did run into a cool jewelry store - Suzy Q Beads and I got a new bead for my Troll Bracelet! It is limey green with black polka dots! Thanks Mum :o)

Back to The Hat Sunday evening to clean the shop and then watch the 61st Emmy's with Chris and the girls!

Great Weekend! Now I must do the laundry...

YOGA-SMOGA

I tried my 1st yoga class this monday... and wow way to kick my butt! my sholders and abs hurt today... and during the yoga experience everything hurt. It hurts holding your butt in the air and your arms and legs spread out! Even my wrists were hurting! There is much more to yoga than meets the eye! Everyone asked so was it relaxing??? No, not so much! But it is challenging and I am looking forward to next monday to see how it goes!

Lots has gone on in the last erm 15 days... must updated but I did find out that Patrick Swayze passed away last night... he was so young, sad.

I made a massive 'WANT TO DO' list for our house last night... very cathartic... going room by room and also on the front page listing things that can be done SOON!

After that I sang my heart out alone in the basement playing 'LIPS' on our Xbox! FUN! I realized while singing alone... that I thought I sounded better when there were two people playing... so... I need to practice more because clearly my singing voice is not what it used to be! ha ha. or I'm not a good as I thought I was... CLEARLY I just need to practice!

Two Years!

Wow! Two years go by fast! Happy ANNIVERSARY Chris! It has been such a great two years and I am so excited for the years to come! Tonight we are going out for dinner to a cool place called the Thai Orchid Room... we've been there once and it was AMAZING and they had creme brulee... um... mega yummmmmmmmmm! So tonight we head there to celebrate!

I also re-watched our slide show on Monday... So fun, we were pretty cute babies, and crazy kids!

Also some time in September we are planning a trip to FERNIE FERNIE FERNIE!! I am just trying to get a hold of my Aunt so we can get things organized! It has been ages since I've been to Fernie and had time to drive around and go to the Ski Hill and other childhood places that I can't wait to show Chris! So clearly when we go I will have many a photos!

I left Fernie about six years ago... and when I left I remembered it so clearly as just the place I grew up with many great memories but since then I've realized just how beautiful a place it is! I always knew it was beautiful but probably took it for granted as a teen. We were so lucky to grow up in a Valley... in such a GORGEOUS mountain town! So green compared to Southern Alberta! Even though Medicine Hat does have many pretty area's, it truly does in its own way and they are mainly by the river!
