a trip to CALGARY

SATURDAY MORNING
we were off to Calgary to visit the rents house and check the mail and water the plants as they were in Maui for a two week vacation... so envious... well we left in the late morning and arrived around 1:30 / 2ish... and of course it was cloudy and on the verge of rain / snow... all last week I was surfing the net to see what kind of fun things we could do while we were there, i thought it was going to be sunny and warm... we brought the girls so I really wanted to go for a long walk by the river on the paths... and I wanted us to check out 17th Ave and perhaps have dinner down there at one of the cool places that I had checked out on the Internet... but... it snowed and was yuck! BUT we did manage to find our way to the Calgary Farmers Market... which is quite cool! I really want to go back and buy things this time... so much fresh produce and a cool place called Simon's Pie's and they had meat pies, fruit pies and veggies pies... and you could get them individually or large and freeze them.. so very neat! And they had yummy gelato ice cream and lots of funky art work... it's open year round and its inside... so defiantly have to check it out again soon!
Chris had also wanted to find this Pawnshop Super Store... that he had kinda googled and heard they have rooms of cheap DVDs and that is Chris's Heaven so off we went to find it... but ended up on the west half of 17th Ave,the one I wanted to walk around but it was snowing so we did get to look at the outside of all the cool shops and we drove by, and unfortunately the Pawnshop is on the east end of 17th and of course you can't just go straight from one end of town to the other... so we got a wee bit lost downtown and just ended up going back to the North end of the City and finding a random Pawnshop to go in and they did have 3 DVDs for $10 but no luck only a small selection...
Off we went to the mall to walk around because it was still snowing... Chris bought some kernnels Popcorn and was quite content! and I got a jugo-juice yum yum and could have got some new clothes but needed to leave becuase we could not spend money! So back home to see the girls all happy and cute! It was a nice weekend we left Sunday morning and it wasn't snowing or raining so a good drive home!
Although.....
We did stop at Bassano and I rolled my window down the whole way because it was kinda hot in the car while Chris was outside and then Gabby jumped out and ran off!!! It was very very scary because we were at a gas station right off the HWY and if a Semi or a Car was pulling in they would never have had time to stop for her... I yelled for Chris and we ran after her and she ran to the only grassy patch and popped a squat! She really had to go and couldn't wait! so Chris ran over and held he while she finished... so scary... very glad it turned out well. Lily was great in the car just a few pukes... not to bad. Now Chris is back in Oyen... and his phone broke Sunday night... so I'm not sure when I'll get to hear from him next... boo :o( o well I will live... just barely!
